In addition to offering environmentally-friendly plastic bag options to customers, such as oxo-biodegradable bags and compostable bags that meet ASTM D6400 standards, Inteplast is also committed to reusing and recycling across all plants and divisions.

Recycling is an integral part of Inteplast Group's environmental focus. All Inteplast products are 100% recyclable, and all of our plants have reclaim lines to reprocess internally generated scrap and integrate it into the manufacturing process. Our facilities also have an on-site recycling plant with the capacity to recycle over 30 million pounds of post-consumer and post-industrial plastic waste annually.

Across the US and Canada, Inteplast has developed several strategic alliances with various recycling companies to collect and recycle plastic bags. This ranges from programs where the bags are remade into new plastic bags in our Saint John, New Brunswick plant, or other uses such as converting used bags into plastic construction materials. From both an environmental and financial standpoint, the recycling of plastic bags is the most effective way to combat the environmental impact bags have.

We are also implementing training programs and developing new product to increase capacity to reduce plastic bag use in grocery and retail stores.

Together, these programs will lower the amount of bags that end up in landfills and will help save our environment.
